Perhaps one of the most difficult trailers to watch released so far in 2009 features both Mariah Carey, Mo’nique and Lenny Kravits in Precious, due out in theatres in November. Clarice “Precious” Jones is a sixteen year old with big dreams–she wants to be on magazine covers and in videos on BET. Of course, she’s also got big difficulties–she’s sixteen, still in junior high and pregnant with her second child. But can she overcome her many struggles to make something of herself? Check out the Trailer! There are two ways to go on this one–one, to herald it as a story of triumph over adversity, or two, to decry it as a piece that has been done several times before and brings very little new to the table. The resemblance between Precious and earlier work like Lean on Me, Dangerous Minds, Higher Learning, and even the mockery of same High School High from the Zuckers suggests that this is a very old theme. Which way are you leaning with this one? Hit the comments section below and weigh in, and thanks for watching! Precious Cast: Gabourey “Gabby” Sidibe, Paula Patton, Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, Sherri Shepherd, Lenny Kravitz Precious movie trailer provided by Lionsgate. Precious opens in US theaters on November 6th, 2009. Precious is directed by Lee Daniels.
Released: 1986 Ferris is a street-wise kid who knows all the tricks. Today he decides to take the day off school. When Ferris takes the day off, so must his best friends, Cameron and Sloane. Cameron is reluctantly persuaded to borrow his father’s Ferrari, and together they hatch a plan to get Sloane out of class. Suspicious dean of students Ed Rooney knows all about Ferris, but can never catch him. Ferris’ sister Jeanie is also frustrated that Ferris always gets away with his tricks and she doesn’t. Furthermore, Ferris is an ‘angel’ in his parents eyes. It’s Ferris’ day off, he’s out to enjoy himself, and he does!
Unlike the other fanmade trailers, this one contains the full package including live action scenes and cinematics. This is, by far, the best it can get. Take this as a reminder, that it’s coming.
